Director
Alain Ondias-Souna
Alain Ondias Souna is a risk and security professional with extensive experience supporting operations in complex and high-risk environments across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Caribbean.
​
A former U.S. diplomat, Alain combines strategic insight with substantial field experience in crisis management, security planning, and operational resilience in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Over the course of his career, he has worked with several international humanitarian organizations, supporting field operations and helping teams navigate security risks while maintaining operational effectiveness.
​
He brings a deep understanding of the political, historical, and cultural dynamics that shape security risks, enabling him to provide context-driven guidance and practical solutions tailored to local realities.
​
Alain holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Mason Fellow, and a Master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree from The American University.

As the founder of Sahel Risk Solutions, he provides tailored risk advisory, security support, and specialized training—including medical and emergency response training—to help organizations operate safely and effectively in demanding environments.
Technical Director
Christian Badete Akili
Christian Badete Akili is a senior humanitarian security, access, and risk management professional with more than 17 years of experience supporting international NGOs and United Nations agencies operating in fragile, conflict-affected, and high-risk environments across Africa and the Caribbean.
Over the course of his career, Christian has progressed from field-based security roles to senior regional and global advisory positions, supporting organizations such as Norwegian Refugee Council, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, IRC, INTERSOS, Oxfam, Save the Children, World Vision and UNICEF. He has advised leadership teams on security risk management, humanitarian access strategies, crisis preparedness, and duty of care responsibilities .

Christian’s expertise includes the design and implementation of Security Risk Management (SRM) frameworks, security policies and standard operating procedures, contingency planning, humanitarian access negotiation, and incident management. He is also a certified Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) trainer with extensive experience delivering staff safety training and strengthening internal security management systems within humanitarian organizations.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Institut Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel and a Master’s degree in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from the KALU Institute.

As Co-Founder of Sahel Risk Solutions, Christian provides strategic security advisory, training, and capacity-building services to help organizations strengthen risk management systems and operate safely in complex and high-risk environments.
Medical Team Leader
Dr. Jean Bosco Kambale Muyisa, MD, MPH
Dr. Jean Bosco Kambale Muyisa is a public health physician and Medical Team Leader with over 20 years of experience supporting humanitarian operations in conflict-affected and high-risk environments in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He has held senior roles with organizations including ICRC, MSF, IRC, Save the Children, and Pathfinder International, leading medical teams, coordinating emergency responses, and strengthening health systems in fragile settings.
​
Dr. Muyisa specializes in preparing humanitarian personnel for deployment in insecure environments, with expertise in health risk assessment, emergency preparedness, outbreak response, and protection-integrated programming.
​
At Sahel Risk Solutions, he leads medical preparedness and health security advisory services for UN agencies and international NGOs operating in complex contexts.
Tactical Medical Instructor & TCCC Trainer
Drew Young, MSc, NREMT-P, TCCC Instructor
Drew Young is a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Instructor and experienced tactical medical trainer with over 15 years of experience supporting personnel operating in high-risk and conflict-affected environments.
​
He has delivered pre-deployment medical training, Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT), and mass casualty management courses for international NGOs, UN-affiliated programs, and security teams. His expertise includes hemorrhage control, prolonged field care, casualty evacuation planning, and medical contingency planning for austere settings.
​
With a background in emergency and disaster medicine, he combines operational field experience with adult learning methodologies to ensure that humanitarian and security personnel are prepared to respond effectively to life-threatening injuries in unstable environments.

At Sahel Risk Solutions, he supports organizations in strengthening duty-of-care frameworks and enhancing medical preparedness for complex field operations.
