Alain Ondias Souna and Christian Badete worked together in Goma, in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, after their base was attacked.
Both have served across some of the world’s most fragile and conflict-affected contexts. In the humanitarian sector, they are what we often call “field staff” — professionals deployed to the most difficult places to live and work, where insecurity, hardship, and crisis are part of daily reality.
Their experience reflects the quiet commitment of those who operate on the frontlines of humanitarian response, often far from the spotlight, but always close to the communities most in need.
Over the years, they came to realize that much of the security training available to humanitarian organizations was often inadequate and not fully grounded in the realities of working in high-risk environments.
In response, they decided to establish a security company that would integrate the hard-earned lessons of frontline experience — not only from their own careers, but also from the network of expert consultants working with Sahel Risk Solutions. Their mission is to deliver practical, field-tested security support that truly reflects the challenges faced by teams operating in the world’s most complex settings.
